Our main objective is to identify the molecular events in early stage contributing to the development of Parkinson's disease. Our research will also be beneficial to the themes developed in the IRCL, becausethere are many literature data (epidemiological, genetic and cellular)showing a link between this disease and some cancers (eg melanoma). Moreover, our recent results show that ways of proliferation and cell survival aredysregulated in earlyParkinson's disease and also in some cancers (egmelanoma). Consolidating these links, the new mutant gene of Parkinson's diseasethat we have identified eIF4G1 plays an essential role in the pathogenesis of breast cancer.
